Xtreme Green is building electric motorcycles that can travel longer distances on a single charge, and can reach higher speeds. The X rider is the most powerful motorcycle in its lineup, with a range of 100 miles per charge and top speeds of 65 mph. “The response has been overwhelming. We have already sold out of our initial inventory of X Riders,” said David Isserman, corporate communications director for Xtreme Green.

“It took us two years to develop an electric propulsion system that was strong enough to reach speeds of 65 miles per hour,” added Neil Roth, president and CEO of Xtreme Green. The management system they have built for their vehicles uses a Lithium Ion battery that can handle over 2,000 charges—about seven 7 years based on one charge per day average.

The Sentinel was designed for police departments, and security personnel at malls and universities. Xtreme Green is working closely with several police departments and universities across the country, including the Dallas Police Department. “We’ve got orders coming in and orders are going out. It’s pretty exciting,” Roth said.

The Motor Scooter has a sleek design and can reach speeds of 50 mph for a distance of 75 miles on a single charge. It has a built-in 110-volt battery charger. It retails for $6,999.

The X Rider can now be ordered at Xtreme Green’s online store. It is available in yellow, silver or green. It retails for $8,495 and comes equipped with 13-inch wheels giving it the same feel as a regular motorcycle.

Xtreme Green has developed partnerships with some major automotive distributors in the U.S. to complete the rollout of these vehicles. They are starting with Colorado, Las Vegas, St. Louis and the North East. Roth is excited about being able to provide vehicles that produce no emissions and as he says, “are cheap to operate.” He hopes that urban commuters can use motorcycles like the X Rider and Motor Scooter to get to work. Roth also tells MyTekLife that Xtreme Green is in the process of developing an ATV and an all-terrain utility vehicle. He expects them to hit the market later this year.
